I am having a problem while connecting to a D-Link Access Point with Multiple ESSID.
It keeps saying activating but in the end nothing. I am using KnetworkManager & there is no Encryption on the Access Point. I am able to get connected with another machine using windows.
Yup already done, infact my wireless is working, i am able to connect on my netgear wireless router at home, it’s just at office i am not able to connect on this access point.
another piece of information, it doesn’t have any mac address filtering enabled.
ESSID at home is 18 Digits long & at office it’s just 16 digits, so i don’t think this can be a problem.
With a response like that, it sounds a little like you have been reading some of the other threads on this subject.
Anyway, I’m not sure what the problem is. Hopefully @lwfinger will see this. (I apologise Larry As I’m always recommending you)

I tried to assign IP address manually, but this procedure didn’t work.

Please start your own thread. Use a thread title that hints at your problem.
When posting command output, place between code tags, as in

except use “” and “]” instead of the parentheses that I used in that example.
Also indicate which version of opensuse, and whether you are using NetworkManager or “ifup” (via Yast) to configure your connection.
