hello,
I’ve got a little problem with my wirelles network card.
I can’t let it work on opensuse while the option screen said, that the card is avaible.
so I’ve got the question if anyone can help me to get me out of this problem?
grtz
ps. sorry for my bad english.
aloha alex,
First, welcome to the openSUSE forums!
Second, I think you should add your laptop specifications to your thread…
Otherwise nobody would be able to help you solving the problem…
Have a nice Linux time
Grtz,

No, that is not quite enough information yet. Please go the the wireless
sub-forum of the network-internet forum and read the stickies, which are the
first 3 entries in that forum. They will tell you how to identify which Broadcom
device you have. I think that your laptop is old enough that you will just need
to install firmware. If you have Internet access while running Linux, you will
only need to open a terminal and enter the lines
sudo /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware
sudo /sbin/modprobe -rv b43
sudo /sbin/modprobe -v b43
sudo /usr/sbin/iwlist scan
The last of the above lines should yield information about your Access Point. If
it does, you only need to configure the connection.

Now run the command
dmesg | grep b43
and post those results.
You also failed to post the info regarding which Broadcom device you have. The
stickies tell you how to do that but I’ll repeat it here. Do the command
/sbin/lspci -n
and post that as well.
hello iwfinger:D
I’ve done all those things and the result is: IT WORKS:D
very thanks for your help;)

This helpped me get mine working. Now to see if it stays when I reboot.
Thanks,
Aubrey
