Broacom 43xx problems once again on 12.1

I just did a fresh install of 12.1 and i installed the wl and wl default for broadcom and i cant get a connection. It detects the network and tries to connect but eventually just says connection failed. the b43 driver has been removed. i don’t know what to try next

Have you done as suggested here b43 - Linux Wireless
Have you managed or configured your settings with your desktop applet?

I looked at the link. I tried to re install b43 and black list it as it said but no luck still. I want to keep using wl because that’s what i have been using on 11.4 and it worked very well for me. So i guess i ill remove b43 again and keep waiting for a solution.

Here is an extra bit of info… When it tries to connect it says waiting fr authorization and just hangs there. The password is still stored in the network i’m trying to connect to when i look at it…I just don’t get it…

Please post result of

OK
So you have two kernels installed

Please install ‘rfkill’ if you didn’t already

su -
zypper in rfkill

Then in user terminal, post result of

/usr/sbin/rfkill list

Well i did have two…I was in the middle of removing wl default and trying wl desktop but i’m not having any luck with wl desktop either…should i still run the code you just posted? or go back to wl default and do it?

Yes, let me see the rfkill
You can have 2 kernels, so long as everything matches up, and it does

linux-15sn:~ # /usr/sbin/rfkill list
0: dell-wifi: Wireless LAN
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no

OK
Are you using KDE or Gnome

KDE … Do you have an idea of what is wrong?

I can tell you I have the same device

In the network manager delete all connections you have created
Tell me you already setup to use kwallet?!
And wait while I check, and maybe get an image

No i wasn’t using wallet…do i need to? Going to delete all the connections now…

Absolutely must use kwallet

FYI: This device works with b43 also

I enaqbled wallet and tried t do what you said but when i checked for system connection it said some remote thing did not respond then unchecked itself…i deleted the connection again and disabled wallet and renabled it again ad got the same thing…ugh!

Watch out for a Policy Kit pop up that remains hidden (though you should see it in the panel)
Try again

okay i removed all wallets and all connections and tried again and still got the same thing…i give up…i’m getting severely irritated LOL

it said some remote thing did not respond then unchecked itself.
Show me a PrtSc or be more specific than some remote thing

i think maybe it was talking about packagekit or something…and it’s not doing it now anyway…i just don’t know what is going on…wallet wanted a password and then pl wanted root password and it still hung when trying to connect at waiting for authentication

I feel you are just missing something.
It’s a bit messy the first time you make a new connection, but after that, it’s easy.

I would say, try a new user login. Think about what I have said and try and see if you can set a new user up.
