Bottles no longer works after switching to SELinux

As the title, after switching to SELinux, Bottles no longer works.

When I start a program in Bottles I get this error: openSUSE Paste

I think it is SELinux’s fault because in the audit.log there is this: openSUSE Paste

I think It’s time to learn how to manage SELinux.

Someone have an idea where to start, specifically to resolve this error?

I think this is what will solve your issue. I learned about this today as well, while trying to run games through steam. I don’t know much about selinux, so if what you are dealing with is a different issue, my bad.

Thank you! I had searched for possible silutions but had not found that page!

Set selinuxuser_execmod to 1 allows me to start all applications in Bottles but does not seem to be a definite solution at least from what is written in the reported bug.

No, it is the solution. What that bug report says is that it is not universally needed so setting that boolean by default is the wrong way to approach the problem.

If you experience that problem, you set the boolean on your system.

Ok, many thanks!

I happily return to play with my games

You’re welcome! I just reinstalled tumbleweed on a new computer and didn’t know about the switch from apparmor to selinux. I was banging my head against the wall for hours…
