Are you just using SUSE or was there a windows install on there too?
Probably easiest thing to re-install, just make sure you get the bootloader to the MBR.
When you get to the Install summary here:

click on the ‘Booting’
You will arrive here

Click the Advanced tab and make sure MBR only is checked:

If you have more than one HD the device you select in here must be the HD set to boot first in BIOS
Bootloadr is misconfigured. Caf4926 has suggested reinstalling openSUSE as a way to reinstall the bootloader. I think it might be simpler to reinstall only the bootloader. Here’s how you can do that if you have the install DVD:
Insert Suse’s installation DVD and reboot the computer. On the boot screen choose to “Repair Installed System”. On the page titled “Repair Method”, select “Expert Tools”. Then click option “Install New Boot Loader”. Select the partition where you installed Suse (if asked). You’ll get the Grub GUI setup screen. Check under the Tab “Boot Loader Installation” that the checkmark is in “Boot from Master Boot Record” and remove any other checkmarks. Click “Finish”. Wait for message “The boot loader was installed successfully”. Click OK –> Next –> Finish. Ignore any error messages and reboot.
The quote is from here: GRUB Boot Multiboot openSUSE Windows (2000, XP, Vista) using the Grub bootloader.
Problem solved!! Thx
It is nice if you briefly explain How you did that;)
Well done.
Format hard drive, and install new OS. Had to be done!!!
I had the same problem. The only solution I found was to reinstall. I went through this twice, and found that it was some update that was messing up. So I just installed and didn’t run any updates.
