Boot stuck

Hello,

The opensuse is stuck in the screen below and can’t continue booting after I updated the system using zypper update.

Hi, welcome !!

To update TW you should use ‘zypper dup’, as per documentation. And, zypper tells you so if you use ‘zypper up’ …

Sometimes what looks like a failed boot is actually the X server failing to launch correctly, which means an expected mode switch failed, with the result the expected login manager doesn’t appear (on either tty1 or tty7); while in fact Ctrl-Alt-F# will bring you to another tty [2-6] on which a login prompt appears, allowing a login to succeed, and a repair environment proceed.
