Boot stuck on Monitor of LVM2 Mirrors - no limit - solved

My AMD system with a fresh load of 15.0 - all files systems are ext4 - no LVM

When the reboot after the update - neither the old or new kernel would go past the running “starting the Monitor of LVM2 Mirrors” no time limit

After 15 minutes I reset the computer and booted a Opensuse 15 Live image ( I like the GeckoLinux live disks as they have MATE and Xfce as default live )

I went to this path and deleted the 3 LVM2 links

:/etc/systemd/system/sysinit.target.wants # ll
total 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 39 Oct 7 2016 haveged.service -> /usr/lib/systemd/system/haveged.service
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 43 Oct 29 2015 lvm2-lvmetad.socket -> /usr/lib/systemd/system/lvm2-lvmetad.socket
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 44 Jul 29 20:55 lvm2-lvmpolld.socket -> /usr/lib/systemd/system/lvm2-lvmpolld.socket
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 44 Jul 29 20:58 lvm2-monitor.service -> /usr/lib/systemd/system/lvm2-monitor.service
: rm lvm2*

and rebooted and no more LVM2 hang

I have no LVM volumes - why would it keep trying to run?
