You say that openSUSE did startup and load properly. Was that a KDE or GNOME desktop using 32 or 64 bit?
What did you do just before it stopped working? Software Update or what?
Does the Grub Boot loader startup and allow you to select anything?
Executing the terminal command** cat /proc/cmdline** shows the command line used to load and start your selected kernel. Did you run this at the terminal prompt?
When openSUSE does not load now, what do you get? Blank screen, terminal prompt or what?
When you speak of the Control Panel, to what do you refer to? Windows has a “Control Panel”, but openSUSE does not have anything with that exact naming.
