Hello all,

I recently installed 42.1 and love the operating system now that I have my printer work, and the codecs resolved with vlc.

One thing, may I ask can the post boot/grub screen be changed to another background quite easily? I mean the one with the gecko/lightbulb as I am not particularly fond of it. I know it’s trivial, but going through the system settings in plasma I could not see where or if I could change it. I did find one setting but that was relating to the login screen, where as I am after the screen before, the splash screen/boot screen or whatever it could be called.

I couldn’t find a way to edit the original post.

My bad, the boot screen I am talking about has a dark background with a greenish triangle type thing and three pulsing dots underneath.

What you are describing is the plymouth theme. Maybe

man 8 plymouth

will give you some pointers on changing the theme.
