When I boot, it stops just before the loggin screen appears. Then I have to press Ctrl+Alt+F1 (I don’t remember where did I learn that this would work), then some message appears on the screen saying something like:
unable to read configindex0 descripter/all
can’t read configuration, error -61
Then I press enter, adn some more messages appear very quickly (I think it is written something like “not enough memory”, but it is really very fast) and the boot procceds to the loggin screen and everything works fine.
ctrl-alt-Fx(any of the functions will get you in a terminal screen). You mean that everything goes fine and you can boot in the terminal or in x window? regardless you should check the /var/log/messages file as root to see if any errors. another command would be dmesg which will give you some info of what process logged in info for you. You need to provide more details so people could attempt to help you. no info, no help as it’s way too hard to figure out what is your problem. so nobody will bother. Good luck!
