Boot from a usb drive

Hi,

I’ve just installed 42.2 leap on to a usb drive, in expectation of being able to boot from it.
The bios settings are all correct, the install went smoothly, or least no errors were reported
but when I try to boot I get an ‘*error loading operating system’ *msg.

Win XP disc manager reports the drive as having 3 partitions mbr style.

I chose the ‘use entire drive’ option during the install setup.

any ideas?

Thanks

How did you setup boot for your newly installed system?

When I install to a USB, I normally install grub2 to the MBR of that drive. On the boot setup screen in the installer, there’s an option to set the disk order. I always make sure that the USB drive is listed first in disk order on that screen. And then, on the install summary screen, I check that it wants to install boot to the MBR of that USB drive.

Thanks your prompt made the difference, all up and running now.
