boot factory boot.iso into 64bit?

Hi there,

is it somehow possible to boot the boot.iso with a 64bit kernel to install a 64 bit version?

Our hardware (FSC Blade) can’t boot into Live system because of not recognized graphics capabilities. So the installation is always in text mode.

But I didn’t manage to get a 64bit version installed but only the 32bit version.

Is there a name for a 64bit kernel in syslinux? Or how can I tell the installation program to install a 64bit system?

Thanks
Lars

I don’t think the RC is available outside of a Live CD. I suppose you could install 10.3 and use factory to get to the latest RC and beyond. Have you tried booting into VESA for the graphics problem? I haven’t tried that on a live CD but I suppose it should be possible.

Hallo Harry,

thanks for the quick reply.
I don’t have much hope to get the vesa mode working because even syslinux falls back to text mode.

But I’ll try and report.

Thanks
Lars

Hallo Harry,

I couldn’t get the kernel to boot into any VESA mode. It just tells me it would be not available.

It seems I have to wait for the release.

Thanks
Lars
