Boot errors, and recent crash/freeze

Hi,

I don’t really want to make a thread about two problems, but I think the crash could be caused by what the errors refer to, so I’ll mention them here as well.

Every time my pc boots or shuts down I see these error messages (I had to transcribe this from a picture I took, so the numbers aren’t 100% right).

2.883917] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: bus: MMIO read of 00000000FAULT at 612884
 IBUS ]
2.885663] nouveau 0000:01:00:0: bus: MMIO read of 00000000 FAULT at 18ac98

4.1643889] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: DRM: Pointer to flat panel table invalid

I’m assuming there’s a problem with the graphics drivers, but I don’t know what it means exactly or what I can do.
So I ignored them in the past, especially as everything else was working fine and I don’t know how to deal with that stuff in linux yet.

After the crash I also had a look at dmesg.

Within the buffer limit of bash, these were the red-highlighted outputs:
https://gist.github.com/BoggGod/98d7cb9a226bf825eb1a73677c9aa31d

And here’s a full dmesg:

Are these driver/firmware problems alone responsible for the crash/freeze? Is there another log to help identify crashes??

Other things that might be related:

  • plasmashell becomes unresponsive every day at least once
  • experiencing screen tearing when scrolling websites up and down, or watching a video.

I would be most obliged for all and any help.

a late edit: my specs are:
