Hi,

When I boot I get the following error. I didn’t find any fix in this forum nether in Internet search.

How to fix it?

Thanks

In this post says that’s a problem with the kernel default configuration. You can try to recompile the kernel with CONFIG_SATA_PMP=n to see if you get’s ride of these warnings.

Thanks feliciano28,

I saw this post but it is from 2009; Do you think this bug never had been fixed? Do you think this will fix it as the version is not the same today?
And the most important, I don’t know how to compile kernel, never did.
And the last but not the least, I’ll have to do it every time the kernel version will change.

Nothing easier to do to, fix it ?

Hi
Have you checked and tested the drives with smartctl? Check and/or replace SATA cables?

I don’t say that this is a bug. For what the thread that I’ve posted says this could be an configuration incompatibility with some motherboards.

Yes, I think that changing the kernel configuration probably will fix the warnings in the log because they are related to PMP configuration:

You can try this -> https://lizards.opensuse.org/2014/04/15/have-some-fun-today-compile-kernel/

Yes. I compile my own kernel isn’t so difficult.

I don’t know. You can try to do whatmalcomlewis suggested.

It looks like I have some issue with my drives
Could you, if you are skilled, analyse the SMART for my first drive, then my second.

Could you comment please?
I understand I should change it ASAP but could it be due because of the cable?

Hi
I suggest you replace the cable… google the error “UDMA_CRC_Error_Count” although the number is not high, but it may just keep going up every reboot? Those other errors where thousands of hours ago which again may indicate a faulty or not properly seated cable…
