Boot error after upgrade to Kernel 7.0.2

I made an upgrade with Discover.
After the upgrade a message announces the a firmware update will be installed after reboot.
After rebooting the kernel crashes

I’m using a Dell XPS.
I can boot into kernel 7.0.1 and everything is ok.
any idea to resolve the problem?

I have just hour ago updated to kernel 7.2 (your kernel) and it’s good on a 15 years old device. Did you face many (“Erorr url not found returning 404”) and did you face an error in the end of zypper dup? If that I have faced the same thing and I did sudo zypper dup -d (download only ) and after this sudo zypper dup and it worke and I got this kernel.

No, the update works fine without error.
The only that I noticed was the message, that there will be performed a firmware (Bios) update reboot.
I’m not sure, but I think this has something to do with the Bios firmware upgrade process.

I don’t know anything about bios really what I can is to boot from a usb only:)

The kernel panics as it can not mount the root filesystem.
Do you remember if it was a BIOS update or only the secure boot key?

no, sorry I could not remember
Is there a way that I can check this?
I currently can run the system with the previous Kernel 7.0.1

Im thinking if there a way to delete the last update and start a new fresh success update (I really don’t know Im only sharing ideas)

yes, If somebody can tell me how…

ok, I could resolve the problem by reinstalling the kernel again :grinning:
Thank you guys
