BOINC uses home directory for data not /var/lib/boinc as expected

BOINC 7.2.42-4.6 from YAST.

Expecting application to store data files to /var/lib/boinc as the README.SUSE file says it should.

Instead, data files are stored in home directory using (username):users ownership permissions.

Example:

-rw-r–r-- 1 myusername users 58502 Dec 28 10:10 all_projects_list.xml

Directory /var/lib/boinc exists and ownership permissions appear OK

drwxr-xr-x 2 boinc boinc 4096 Dec 28 10:00 boinc

Previously had BOINC running under 42.1 with a manual install. Data files were correctly stored in /var/lib/boinc.

Do you have any experience with starting boinc-manager automatically? It fails to connect to the host. I shut it down and start it from a root cli. Then it runs until the next reboot.

Problem is not that BOINC will not run.

Problem is that BOINC puts data files into the wrong directory.

Solved by completely removing everything BOINC, re-installing and re-enabling autostart.
