Bluetooth speaker

Is it possible to configure a speaker to my system via Bluetooth?

Why not?

If bluetooth is working…

I have one speaker and a headphone working.

So how do I configure it?

In Plasma:
bluetooth applett and pavucontrol…

Please go on.

I do not know, what you mean?

You want to use a Bluetooth speaker?

  1. Bluetooth must be running.
  2. You have to pair your Bluetooth speaker with the bluetooth on the Computer
  3. You have to setup your Bluetooth speaker with pavucontrol.

That’s all very clear, but, having got pavucontrol to recognise the Bluetooth speaker, how do I set that as default? There’s somewhere where I have to set an index, but I can’t find it.

Maybe in Yast-sound set Bluetooth as device 0

That’s what I assumed, but it doesn’t appear there. It’s listed in the output devices in pavucontrol, at least when it’s connected though not in playback. But not in anywhere in Yast that I can find.

It’s in the OutputDevices tab. Simply set the internal speaker as ‘fallback’, make sure the BT device is not.

I tried clicking the fallback button. There’s no visible response, so I can’t tell if it’s set or not. Sorry to be so pathetic, but I’m getting really frustrated with this.

Hi
So is the bluetooth device on the host present/visible and not disabled?

Is it paired (In my case a speaker)?

So I’ve made some sort of progress in that, when I try to change the volume via pavucontrol, I got popping sounds. I still don’t get the sounds I should get (eg music). Just to clarify, I get all the correct sounds via my headphones on the PC and the speaker works perfectly well with my iPad.

The Bluetooth connection works okay between my smartphone and the PC. I transferred some photos yesterday with no problem (which is why i decided to resurrect this thread).

Hi
Just to clarify, those are different functions within bluetooth feature set, your using file transfer which is different than audio, that all depends on the functions of the bluetooth device on your PC, does it support audio (maybe even codecs?)?
