Bluetooth mode of Logitec trackball locksup my computer with intel Bluetooth controller

My desktop was frequently locking up (once or twice a day). Two days ago, I switched my Logitec trackball from Bluetooth to proprietary wireless, and the system hasn’t locked up since.

I was having problems with the trackball in Bluetooth mode becoming unresponsive. When that happened, bluetoothctl power on reported success, but did not restore functionality. bluetoothctl power off would fail multiple times, then finally succeed. After that, bluetoothctl power on did restore functionality.

While I was typing this up, I noticed my trackball froze for several second (~20s) then recovered on its own. That is in Logitec USB wireless mode.

The Bluetooth controller is on the ROG Maximus Z790 Formula motherboard. It’s intel, but I don’t have any further identifying information.

The trackball is ERGO-M575.

Has anybody else encountered this problem?

Bluetooth and WLAN 2G are protocols that share the same band and can easily interfere with each other and does almost always do so when used at together at low distances, could this explain your problems?
