thanks in advance for you help / comment…

Probably your obex-service is not running.

Have a look at this post.

thanks for the answer.
Obex was installed, i followed the thread you suggested and Bluetooth disappeared from the menu bar & system settings.

reinstalled today morning the Obex. Now Bluetooth is visible in the system settings and menu bar, but no Bluetooth adapter available.

What do the following commands report?

/usr/sbin/hwinfo --bluetooth
/usr/sbin/rfkill list

thank you.

actually the first command gives nothing. there is some characters but then disappear.

and

/usr/sbin/rfkill list

i am leaving for 2 weeks now, i will install manjaro, did not have such issue in the past.
but i will be reinstalling the system to Opensuse after back so i will back to you in case of issues…

thanks for the support.

imho, it must be some update, which disconnected bluetooth or remove some package…

No BT device is available to the system.

Hi Gents,

one comment more, today morning i installed ArcoLinux.
it did not see any Bluetooth adapter. same comment as OpenSuse…
contrary to ArcoLinux, Bluetooth on the Suse worked for some time…

i will try to check some debian version.
looking for the issues with Bluetooth i am considering a new laptop, produced by Tuxedo or System76.
should be working without any issue…

Some Laptops do have special key combinations (e.g. on my laptop Fn+F11) which will disable WLAN and/or Bluetooth completely (on hardware level). Example:

  • press the keys once => WLAN+Bluetooth off
  • press the keys a second time => WLAN on, Bluetooth off
  • press the keys a third time => WLAN off, Bluetooth on
  • press the keys a fourth time => WLAN+Bluetooth on

It might be worth to consult your laptops hardware manual on this.

Regards

susejunky

That should be seen in rfkill.

Try a live Distri with an older Kernel, Arch and Tumbleweed are using an actual kernel and that might be a problem.

Or is Bluetooth disabled in Bios/UEFI?

Hi
I suspect the wireless adapter is not a dual one, or as indicated disabled in the BIOS;
