Bluetooth headphones need restart through pulse vol ctl ---> output

Every time bluetooth headphones are disconnected, upon reconnect it is necessary to click on headphones in pulse vol ctl ----> output window.

For example, after recharge, I turn on phones. Audio says “connected” but no sound until I open puls vol ctl and go to outputs tab and click on the headphones.

I think this is not the normal way to turn on headphones. Any comments or solutions? Took a lot of time and effort to figure out this way to get headphones restarted after a recharge.

I can confirm this behavior which differs from what pulseaudio did, where a default device would take over output as soon as connected. To my knowledge this feature is missing from pipewire. You might consider reporting it upstream.

Hello,
Yes mine is the same, I have 3 different headphone / earphones and I must wait ± 2 hrs before there can be any sound in the devices, although it says “connected” in the widget on taskbar.
This is not a regular thing, at times my devices does not play sound at all even if I wait the whole day, the widget however says “connected” all this time but no sound.
What can we do to fix this annoying problem??
