Bluetooth goes away if...

Currently, I’m running OpenSUSE 12.1 on Tumbleweed. I will often go days without rebooting my system, given that whenever particular services or apps starting acting up, it’s easy to restart them individually. So when I need my computer to enter a low-power state, I simply put it to sleep. However, this has revealed a minor issue with my SUSE install - whenever I put my computer to sleep, then restore it, BlueDevil (as I’m using KDE) has gone away. Upon restarting it, it reports that “No adapters are found”. So I tried restarting the bluez-coldplug daemon before running BlueDevil again, which worked a couple times, but has since ceased to work. So I am left with the problem that when restoring my computer from a sleep state, SUSE cannot detect my bluetooth adapter. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a Broadcom BCM2045 installed as the bluetooth adapter.

I find with my laptop that when it’s put into hibernate (but oddly not
suspend), when it starts back up the wireless devices are all listed as
in ‘airplane mode’ in GNOME3.

If there’s something similar to that in KDE, you might look and see if
that’s what’s happening to you.
