Bluedevil not responding

Hi,

Recently, I upgraded to Tumbleweed (from Opensuse 13.2 KDE). And my problem is that the Bluedevil does not start when I click on it. No error message, I see the application in the panel for about 5 seconds and then it disappears again. Under, I have copied the exact version number.

cat /etc/os-release
NAME=openSUSE
VERSION="Tumbleweed"
VERSION_ID="20151123"
PRETTY_NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed (20151123) (x86_64)"
ID=opensuse
ANSI_COLOR="0;32"
CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:opensuse:opensuse:20151123"
BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.opensuse.org"
HOME_URL="https://opensuse.org/"

uname -a
Linux linux-u5sk.site 4.3.0-2-default #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Nov 14 16:19:19 UTC 2015 (734b32c) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I have also checked the rfkill command (in-case if the bluetooth got blocked).

rfkill list all
0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
1: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
2: hci0: Bluetooth
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
3: phy0: Wireless LAN
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no

Nothing is blocked, the bluetooth is working. But when I try to start bluedevil the application simply does not respond. Is there an alternative application for bluetooth? And how can I fix this problem?

Best Regards;

Hi,

I was thinking, would it be possible that during the migration (going from Opensuse 13.2 to Tumbleweed) the bluedevil application was not upgraded/updated?

Upgrading can always be a problem if the old config files are kept. Check and see if there is a corrispondig hidden folder in your home. Try another user. Check /etc for config files for the app
