Bloomber Terminal

Hi,

Has anyone managed to install a Bloomberg Terminal on Opensuse 12.1? Is it possible to do so, using Wine? I am interested in accessing the Bloomberg API to retrieve data.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Sounds like a Bloomberg Terminal is more than some communications program …

The Bloomberg Terminal is the de facto standard machine for any professional working in finance. And it doesn’t come cheap, costing about $1,600 per month.

I found an interesting article here you can read: Build Your Own Bloomberg-Killer | PCWorld Business Center

So what exactly part of a Bloomberg Terminal are you trying to use openSUSE for?

Thank You,

thanks for the reply. i’m looking to install a bloomberg terminal with full functionality (naturally, i have a subscription). i’m not looking just to use the api…(appreciate your link…that is a good if you only want to import data)…

So you know openSUSE works great with Oracle’s VirtualBox working with 32 bit versions of Windows 7, Vista and XP as I have all of them working on my openSUSE PC. I am not sure just what application you are looking for to run under openSUSE. If you have a subscription, what software does it requires to be used?

Thank You,
