I have tried the fglrx drivers on openSUSE 12.3 in a way to take advantage of the AMD gpu (RadeonHD 6770M). The installation was through the geeko repo without errors and/or warnings (http://geeko.ioda.net/mirror/ati/openSUSE_12.3).
After rebooting the first impression I have is that the amd control panel is more simple and maybe because it doesn’t have display management options, therefore I tried using the KDE screen preferences to extend my desktop and here comes the problem. Once I click on “apply” my monitor and my laptop screen start to blink. It actually shows the extended desktop.
After this I tried a new configuration using suggested settings which didn’t make any difference:
