Blank Screen / Can't Log-in after changing display settings

I had openSUSE 11.0 up and running fine bar configuring my HP Photosmart 3180 AIO printer.

So, I thought I’d play about with different settings under the display options / effects. One was to have a snow drop effect on my screen. I must have OK’d the setting in error. Now when I try to login I get to the SuSE splash screen I get halfway through and the screen turns firstly white and then deathly black. I can’t get to the GUI log-in stage now to alter the display settings ! Please help as I’ve urgent work to do later today.

Thanks,

Tut! Tut! that’s what happens when you fiddle ( only joking :stuck_out_tongue: ) at the boot screen, enter 3 on the boot options line, once at the command prompt, log-in as normal, then,su to root, once there, type sax2 & press enter. this will get you to the setup for your display, then you can sort it as you please
