Hi All:
I’m having a problem with the display not restarting after waking from sleep or hibernate. This is in OS 12.1 with default (4.7.2) KDE desktop. The system is a multi-boot with one of the other systems being OS 11.4 in which wake from sleep/hibernate works correctly (the display is active). Return from sleep works fine under OS 11.4, Fedora 15, and windows7.
I haven’t been able to find any settings under Configure Desktop that have had any effect on this problem.
The Hardware is:
Video: ASUS EN210 (GeForce 210) w/nouveau driver (same as in OS 11.4)
M/B: ASUS M4N98TD EVO
Chipset: NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI
I submitted a bug report (716905) but never received anything back about it although it is shown as NEED INFO. When I inquired about what info was needed I didn’t get a response.

try: at first green screen press F5 and select to boot using systemv
(the default in 12.1 is systemd, a new method which causes lots of
strange problems all around)…if that works then you can switch to make
systemd boots everytime, and go back to that bug report and tell’em
this workaround worked for you…
WAIT!! bug 716905 has nothing whatsoever to do with wake from sleep! and
the “need info” was expanded, with a specific log requested, and you
gave it to them, last September…
so, what is up with that? that is, is there a different bug concerning
this problem…and, please tell me you are running 12.1 and not still
on Milestone 5!!

That bug is about “After installing OS 12.1-M5 (build0250) the only item in
menu.lst is windows”, which is a different issue. A log was requested, you
uploaded it, and you forgot to clear the “needinfo” flag. So please clear
it so that the bug can be tended to.
See the “This comment provides the needed information. Remove the status of
NEEDINFO from this bug.” tick box below the comment? You had to tick it.
Plus, as that was referred to the Beta version, and you obviously have it
working now, you must say that it works now so that it can be closed.

Nothing happened when I tried that. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Sorry, the database where I keep my bug reports has messed up the keys tables. Will have to fix that. It was a different problem (installer not finding other installed systems).

They will WONTFIX that, I’m afraid.
