Black VNC screen, works w/ other guest VM

I have two instances of OpenSuse 11.4 installed as guests under XenServer. The first one is running KDE and the second LXDE.
I can connect via TightVnc to the KDE guest. When connecting to the LXDE guest the client window is black with an X cursor. Both systems have identical Xorg.conf files and identical xinet.d/vnc files. The logs show that xinetd is starting vnc on the LXDE guest. The LXDE process is running, and lxde.log doesn’t contain any obvious problems.

I’m stumped, does anyone have any suggestions?

No one has any ideas???

Not (ie not ideas) connecting the way you connect and not with your setup. I use strictly terminal commands to connect and I have a different setup (using LXDE) and I have no problems. OTHERS will need to provide advice how to connect given your setup.

Install FreeNX (or NoMachine NX) in your VMs and connect to them from anywhere with a Nx client! - it is much better and faster than VNC!

Not really, but the first thing I would do is to check if it somehow a
problem with tightvnc, try the same with another vnc client (ultra vnc, real
vnc or whatever, it is a very long time ago I used vnc myself) and see if
the same effect happens.

Another thought, which login manager do you use for the lxde system? Is it
GDM? In that case what does your /etc/gdm/custom.conf look like?
