Hi,
When I am using suse everything is right. But when I don’t use my computer for 6 minutes, the system is locked. (until this everything is ok)
When I move the mouse or press any key, I can only see a black screen and the mouse pointer.
The only thing I can do is CTRL-ALT-F1, login as root and run:
shutdown -r now
Is there any solution for this ?
Thanks
Agustin
I have the same issue since a few weeks. I guess you are also using KDE as your desktop environment, aren’t you?
I didn’t found a proper solution so far, but I am using CTRL-ALT-F6 and afterwards CTRL-ALT-F7. Than the login screen is visible again. No need to restart the PC/Laptop. But a proper fix or solution would be nice.
Hi!
Had the same with a notebook and some desktops with NVIDIA graphics (all TW with KDE desktop):
https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/523507-Since-kernel-4-10-no-wake-up-from-screen
For the desktops the problem resolved after recent updates, for the notebook I had to un-install in YaST:
xf86-video-nouveau
(take care! after next update it will be back if you don’t blacklist it!)
I uninstall
xf86-video-nouveau
from my computer,
If this doesn’t work I’ll try CTRL+ALT+F6 and then CTRL+ALT+F7 and see what happens
I think that maybe is something to do with Nvidia graphic cards, because I have one.
Let’s see what happens

Agustin
Uninstalling
xf86-video-nouveau
doesn’t work for me.
I am on an Optimus Laptop and using Nvidia (proprietary drivers) only for gaming. For normal usage I am using the modset driver for Intel. Installing
xf86-video-intel
doesn’t work either.
It’s not a big deal but if it could be solved I would be happy
