Black screen with frozen cursor upon logout - Tumbleweed - nVidia gtx3060

I am running a fresh install of Tumbleweed (just downloaded today) on a usb drive. My host is a AMD Ryzen 5600x with a nVidia gtx 3060. I have a dual display setup. Primary is a Dell U2515H Secondary Dell U2518D.

My problem is a black screen with a frozen cursor upon logout. I never get SDDM back. I am set to autologin under SDDM settings with wayland session set.

I have added the community repos that include NVIDIA, Packman Essentials, Packman, nVdia Graphics Drivers, repo-non-free - NVIDIA, repo-non-oss, repo-openh264, repo-oss-*

As I am newly returned to opensuse, I don’t understand how to tell if correct driver for my gtx3060 card is currently employed – if someone could shed some light on that that would be great.

I have run some of the commands under SDB:NVIDIA drivers - openSUSE Wiki to ensure I have the key repos mentioned in set, and that there is nothing more to add from them.

Please advise on output you need to see to assist. I will also share that timeout-to-SDDM (due to idle time) works. I am able to log back in following a timeout. The trouble begins if I force a logout.

Fresh bootup works, no problems. I am running from a sandisk extreme pro usb 3 flash drive.

Found the Wayland panel under info center… I assume all looks good in terms of my system properly employing wayland and nvidia driver: openSUSE Paste

Whups. Totally missed this… got logout working. I missed a zypper inr after adding the community repos during fresh install. This fixed everything and now I have output for cat /proc/driver/nvidia/version and sudo cat /sys/module/nvidia/version and sudo modinfo nvidia

I hope this helps someone else that is doing a fresh install on an nvidia system!
