I had a ‘Black screen’ problem when i rebooted my laptop after the clean installation. Actually, i could only enter recovery mode.
Hello and welcome here.
A bit of information would be nice to help people here to help you.
You did an installation, probably of openSUSE, but which version?
As this is about your screen, the expression “laptop” isn’t very usefull. At least the make, but better the type of the graphics card is needed. And the make and type of the laptop may not be realy needed, but it is always nice to introduce things and you never know if you are not the first one who bought such a thing and then others with the same laptop might be able to help you.
I also have this problem after updated openSUSE 12.2 with Apper. It bother me a long time.
Tell us about your graphics hardware
Don’t use Apper
