been drawn back to opensuse for the KDE implementation. I installed 11.3 from the live CD, updated, installed wine, copied wow from my working arch install (gnome and wow works).
When I start wow from 11.3 KDE all I get is a black screen.
the opensuse and arch installs are on the same box, different drives.
I am using and always have used the --opengl parameter.
You’re using x86_64 or x86 system? what video card do you have?
I run it from KDE with kwin effects using the following Config.wtf file
on my laptop, because openGL make it a black screen on it, on my desktop
I add the SET glxAPI “OpenGL” to the end of the file

Thanx for the info. I ended up removing wine, reinstalling wine and then going through all the wine config settings from my arch box and openSUSE. Turns out that on my openSUSE install, I had to set the wine emulation to windows XP not windows 7.
When I had it on windows 7 emulation I get the black screen, moved it to windows XP and viola, works like a champ.
