Black Screen After Installing openSUSE Leap 16

I just installed openSUSE Leap 16. At first, everything worked fine, but the next day when I turned on my laptop, the screen went black. How can I fix this issue? Previously, I used openSUSE Leap 15.6 and never experienced this problem

I presume this happens before you get to a login screen? Graphics details are important here. Does the system in question have NVIDIA graphics?

In any case try booting with a fallback graphics mode. At the GRUB menu, press “e”, and on the line starting with linux, add “nomodeset” at the end, then press F10 to boot. If that brings the display back, it likely indicates a GPU driver or kernel mode setting issue. From there it may be that you need to install drivers depending on your graphics card situation.

Let us know if that helps.

@fufufafa If you are running a Nvidia GPU, then I’ve seen today it out of sync between the open driver versions. I just switched to the proprietary one at the moment…

I actually ran;

zypper -vvv up --allow-vendor-change
zypper in nvidia-driver-G06-kmp-default
