bizarre login issue with HP envy 360 2 in 1

My wife’s PC is an HP Envy 360 2in1 with only openSUSE 15.1. It has always been used as a laptop, never in the tablet mode.

Today she had to reboot for the first time in months. When login screen was expected she instead got a large touchscreen style, virtual keyboard. Touching any but one of the keys produced no response. The exception was a little symbol in the lower right corner that resembles a keyboard. When that ‘key’ is touched the screen switches to a graphical login screen, the same one she’s used to, however as soon as she touches any key on the physical keyboard the screen immediately reverts to the virtual KB with the same behavior described above. This is thoroughly repeatable, and I am at a complete loss to help her get logged in.

deinstall libqt5-qtvirtualkeyboard

Thank you for the quick response. That makes perfect sense, however I’m embarrassed to admit that I’m temporarily on prescription meds that leave me rather foggy today. Can you please walk me through the howto?

Do not log in, press CRTL+ALT+F3, login as root with root and root-password, type in:

zypper rm libqt5-qtvirtualkeyboard

or

rpm -e libqt5-qtvirtualkeyboard

type in:

reboot

Ah yes, that was what I could not recall , Thanks
