I have bee trying to install bitcoin-qt v8.5, a beta version wallet, on my machine - Suse 12.3 KDE. It installs fine and the first thing it does is index the entire network of transactions. However, this process never completes. At some point an error pops up. “Database corrupt” with no choice but “Ok”. It then just shuts down after “Ok” is selected. When you run it again it immediately give you the “Database corrupt” notice again and shuts down again.
If I delete all the files in /.bitcom it starts the process over again, but eventually it will give me the “Database corrupt” notice sometime before it is finished - sometimes almost immediately and sometimes hours into the process. I have deleted and reinstalled it to no avail. I have installed it from a SourceFoge page and Suse oneclick and command line zypper.
Does anyone know how I can set up a stable wallet on Suse?
Not that I have any experience in doing this, but is that database realy in /.bitcoin? I would assume this to be personal to a user and not a system wide database.
Yes it is in home/username/.bitcoin. The application does not install many files and is not large. As the indexing is being done you can see it adding files to that location.

Sounds like a question for the Bitcoin folks, I’d probably start with
them.
