does anyone like the big folders in dolphin with the kde apps 18.04

Huh? What do you mean? Big icons? Use Ctrl± to decrease the size.

Thanks for the tip. So easy to reduce the default size lower (feel a slight fool now…)

FWIW…

This commit: https://cgit.kde.org/dolphin.git/commit/?id=bebcf035d264410c943e7bad861628c1b14dd1f2 to “Turn on Dolphin icon previews by default.” was the cause.

Icon previews on by default is something that one may, or may not want…

To restore the original behaviour set the defaults as you require them from (Dolphin) View -> Adjust View Properties. Then ensure that “Use these view properties as default” is checked, and “Apply”.
