Someone pushed the button to libqt4 new upstream 4.7.2 to enter factory.
My guess: beware of upgrade!

i was surprised when yesterday most KDE (factory) updates got stuck with a
missing dependency on libqt4-xxx >= 4.7.2
i asked on the kde & opensuse-kde mailing lists and was told this would
sort itself out after a few days. i believe that to be true, but before
reading these replies i already added KDE:/Qt4.7 repo, which supplies the
needed dependencies.
it’s probably better to wait this out, but upgrading with (temporary)
inclusion of the Qt4.7 repo didn’t have any negative effects for me.

My warningmeant for people hanging on factory but wanting openSUSE-11.4
Other than Debian, where you could set your sources.list half a year before release of “squeeze”, as it was just a link to “testing”, openSUSE developper team doesn’t provide any early smoth transitioning repository 11.4 places…
So people like me, who want to follow the new release, might be caught up by an ongoing factory

ah, i get it (i think). i was refering to KDE:/Distro:/Factory, where i
encountered this inconsistency. openSUSE 11.4 or factory, with their
versions of KDE 4.6 shouldn’t be affected by this. sorry for confusing
your thread…

Factory is frozen at the moment.
That means Factory at the moment = 11.4
It will go on after 11.4 release next Thursday.
Hint: People who want to run the latest distributions before their
release should follow the factory mailing list.

i usually do that a while after a release. that’s when factory often
becomes difficult to use, with new changes for the next version coming up.
i don’t want to maintain a separate testing environment / machine.
normally, once things get settled somewhat, i can use alpha- &
beta-versions for work. means i’m using 11.4 repos already, planning to
switch to oS factory again some (yet undetermined) time in the future.

I met the same dependency problem(s). After some quick searches, I decided to wait.
I added the same repo, resolving the dependencies (as well as a few other “annoyances”) without any significant problems. One fallout of adding this repo (KDE:/QT47) is a change in the YAST appearance. YAST seems to be locked to the “Bespin” theme, ignoring desktop configuration styles. While YAST functions correctly, it appears UGLY!
(As I recall, “Bespin” was less than attractive in the Star Wars film (“The Empire Strikes Back”), and this theme certainly does disappoint!).

Or do you think openSUSE-11.4 imports qt-4.7.2 after Goldmaster?

Andreas Jaeger on factory mailing list 03/04/2011 04:20 PM:
"To save bandwidth to our mirrors, we’ve frozen the repository of factory
and will not publish a new version until 11.4 is released. This helps us
to feed our mirrors better with 11.4.
Andreas"
I told you early adopters before:
Read the factory mailing list
http://waxborg.servepics.com
openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64)
2.6.37.2-4-default
Thanks for sharing.
After adding repo Qt47, all dependency problems relating to KDE4.6 updates disappeared.
No problems encountered so far after updates.
No change identified in Yast windows or operation.
Only madmen and angels…
Then Andreas Jäger did the freeze a little moment too late after qt-4.7.2 reached factory.
I hope I will be able to follow openSUSE-11.4 once it is available. My plan was then to change to Tumbleweed…

You need to communicate thru the factory mailing list.
Whining about AJ’s and others’ doings in these forums is just noise.
