[Beta1] No "vga=0x314" in /boot/grub2/grub.cfg anymore?

Hi, all

Can you please confirm:

  1. if you have “vga=0x31*” in /boot/grub2/grub.cfg by default on a fresh-installed openSUSE 12.3 on physical machine?

And:

  1. if you’re a NVIDIA 313.18 driver user (mine is NVIDIA Quadro 140M),

2.1 How long does it take from the NVIDIA splash to the KDE splash with and without “vga=0x31*” item in grub2 boot section? (used autologin feature)

In my case, without such vga item, It will take forever, all I can get is a blank screen with a cursor on the topleft corner; with vga item, it’ll take about 3~5 minutes to show the kde splash.

2.2 If without vga item, will it cause your bios splash (eg: after hitting power button, there’ll be a “Thinkpad” splash on Lenovo Thinkpad) be split into four sections, by broken purple and green stripe (which looks like you have burned your graphic card), and the topleft and bottomleft sections both have a separate booting screen whose colors are abnormal to yellow? (such cases happens randomly but with a great probability about 2/3)

I once had this problem for M2 and Beta1, I fixed by adding “vga=0x314” to my grub2 section, now I want to open a bug report for openSUSE, but I can’t reoccur it for now…

Thanks

Marguerite

No, that’s not there. It’s not there in 12.2 either.

(I don’t have Nvidia graphics on the system that I checked).

Yes, you’re right.

The slow was caused by btrfs broken inodes.lol!
