Just installed beta 4 for 11.1, using kde 3.5,and it won’t connect to the internet using a wired lan card. Card is a standard gigabyte that works with all the other distros i have tried. It shows the lan card is configured but there is no connection with firefox.

I installed from the dvd,ran the live cd and it won’t connect either. This is installed on the same comp,differnt hard drive, as suse 11.0 which connects fine.

Anyone else having this problem or can anyone suggest a solution?

IIRC there is a bug with NetworkManager not being launched automatically. Check if it’s running already.

Found the problem. My comp has 2 lan cards, one built in to the motherboard and one in a slot, for some reason beta 4 will only use the builtin card. After i changed the cable to the realtrek card it connected fine.
