Best NVIDIA card

hello

Which is the best NVIDIA cards that fully works with Suse ? from mid-level to high-level…

I’ve been to their website and in the download option, all of their recent cards have the option to download drivers for Linux 32 and 64 bit, but it doesn’t have details if it allows full use of the card features.

Thank you

1st off, I do recommend you buy an nVIDIA video card. Since most of us have one or perhaps two nVIDIA cards, its will be really hard to say which one is “best”. I have a nVIDIA GTX 560 and its working great for me. You can compare their video cards at this site: Performance Comparison Benchmarks @ Hardware Compare

I have several blogs about using nVIDIA cards here:

Installing the nVIDIA Video Driver the Hard Way - Blogs - openSUSE Forums

LNVHW - Load NVIDIA (driver the) Hard Way from runlevel 3 - Version 1.30 - Blogs - openSUSE Forums

S.A.N.D.I. - SuSE Automated NVIDIA Driver Installer - Version 1.11 - Blogs - openSUSE Forums

Needless to say, I like their stuff.

Thank You,

Thank you! those links will be useful to have.

You are welcome and please come back and tell us what you have purchased and just how well it is working for you.

Thank You,

I have this:

Model: "nVidia GeForce 9500 GT"
Vendor: pci 0x10de "nVidia Corporation"
Device: pci 0x0640 "GeForce 9500 GT"
SubVendor: pci 0x1462 "Micro-Star International Co., Ltd."

and I can only say that it works without problems. I don’t think it is high
end.
