what are you trying to “manage”?

i know there are folks making money by selling “download managers” to
Windows users, but since i’ve not used windows since about '95 i can’t
imagine what there is to ‘manage’…

i mean, i start a download and does…what is to ‘manage’?

admittedly, if it is not something like a few megs of .pdf i find via
Firefox and wanna look at now i use wget (which will automatically
restart a stalled or partial download via ftp, hhtp or hhtps)…

maybe that is what you mean by a “download manager”?

in a terminal, see

man wget

there are probably GUI front ends for it, but having not tried one i
can’t recommend one over the other…

try this:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aopensuse.org+gui+front+end+for+wget

goldie

If as goldie says you are looking for a gui style ‘download manager’ (ie it will resume your download if unfinished) look at FlashGot for firefox.
You can set it to use curl or wget.
Even a command-line ftp has always been able to resume broken downloads.
The beaty of flashgot is that you don’t have to remember a long site name together with login details - it manages/remembers this for you.

As goldie says, there are a lot of gullible windows users who will pay for anything.

I asked a similar question here.

I use aria2.
It has a GUI as well, but I prefer the command line:

aria2::gui
