hehe, pidgin is great for its feature of showing the display pictures on the contacts list!
I have tried all of them and prefer aMSN.
Kopete would be my second choice.
I was recently using emesene and found it quite good. aMsn is nice, however i would have to truly come back and say Pidgin (Gaim) is the best on offer
emesene looks pretty nice! I never herd of that one! Thanks! I’m gonna give it a try!
It brings together all the IM services to one place on your desktop. So that one can see who’s on or not & IM their friends irregardless of whatever IM Client they use. To use it one has to be into IMing. I don’t do so much anymore, so I have little use for these apps, but when I was Kopete was my choice.

then Pidgin is the answer to his Q?

Actually I really quite love emesene! I still have pidgin installed! I have the icons next to eachother! So I can pick and choose!
