Have a BENQ T241WA monitor attached to my SUSE 11 box. It has a NVidia GeForce 6100 nForce 405 graphics card.
My problem is that the display is to big for the Monitor screen and about 15% is hidden away to the left no matter how I alter the settings in the SaX2: X11 Configuration.
Any help would be appreciated.

Does the monitor has an ‘autodetect’ function in its menus? If so, try
selecting that. The monitor should autosync to the current display.

Hi Nemetode
If you haven’t been able to resolve this yet, please post the contents of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
Here you go!

Its possible this modeline entry has some values that need adjusting. The xmode CLI utility can be used to generate basic versions of these. You need to be careful that you select a valid resolution and refresh rate for your monitor. For example, 1920x1200 at 60Hz gives:
linux:/home/dean # xmode -x 1920 -y 1200 -s 60
59
48
Modeline “1920x1200” 151.63 1920 2032 2240 2560 1200 1201 1204 1234
Give this utility a go, and modify your xorg.conf monitor section accordingly. Backup the existing working configuration file first though, just in case you need to return to it. (You could just turn the existing modeline into a comment with # character). If you need to, xvidtune can be used to examine and tweak these settings further.
Thanks - All working now!

{Grin} Doesn’t make sense to post this today since you posted you got it
working yesterday…
