Before reinstallation.

I am facing another reinstall due to the 20+ repository I’ve add, it mess up the system, and I get kde plasma crash a lot. I have a separate /home directory, so I just wanna to reinstall everything related to kde,all the kde application settings I want to remove while remain the firefox setting and chrome and chromium,so here is the question, which directory I can remove that so I can prevent kde crash again after reinstall? so just remove .kde and .kde4?

Re-name .kde4, rather than delete it. Then you can recover settings for apps like konversation, knode, etc…

One thing you might try before re-installation is a new user login
See how that behaves.

You might be able to login with IceWM if kde is crashing, (so you can create a new login)

You can also try to disable the extra repositories and the run a “zypper
dup” with only oss, non-oss, update and packman enabled to do a repair.
Do a full backup of your home before in case it goes wrong.
If that does not help rename .kde, .kde4 and try first what caf4926
suggested (it is easier and faster than to roll back the repos to a standard
configuration).
