Try a CD version and see. Note you may have to go into Yast and set it up.

So your SB card name does not specify the actual sound card model number, but when I made my latest SB purchase, it required kernel version 3.2 to work and would not work with kernel 3.1 as came with openSUSE 12.1 and so you might want to consider a kernel update. The latest stable kernel is up to version 3.3.4 from kernel.org. Anytime you upgrade your kernel version, some drivers must be reinstalled, such as those for Oracle’s VirtualBox, and the nVIDIA or AMD proprietary video drivers. You can get a new kernel several ways.

One is by adding in this repository and selecting say 3.3.3 from YaST / Software / Software Management:

OR

You can use my bash script call SAKC you can find here: S.A.K.C. - SUSE Automated Kernel Compiler - Version 2.71 - Blogs - openSUSE Forums

AND you can pull up any kernel version, such as 3.2 using this script, if you wanted to do that: S.G.T.B. - SuSE Git Kernel Tarball Creator - Version 1.80 - Blogs - openSUSE Forums

There is also the kernel/Head repository that is serving up kernel 3.4-rc4 at the moment:

I am actually using kernel 3.4-rc4 in which I used SAKC to compile it, but using 3.3.4 and SAKC might be my base suggestions and loading kernel 3.3.3 by repository, as suggested first might be the easiest to do. Just let us know if you have any questions on the subject.

Thank You,
