before install mplayer

hi dears,

i tried to install mplayer from packman and it failed because some lib datas are missing.

what should i have installed before i install mplayer?

could somebody tell me please?

You should have set up your repositories first. Go here:
Repositories - openSUSE-Community

lets say you are using openSUSE-11.0. Then that would take you here:
Repositories/11.0 - openSUSE-Community

which gives you this instruction:

Just head over to YaST -> Software -> Software Management. Then, in the menu: Repositories -> Repository Manager. Now hit the Add -> Community Repositories, and select:

* Main Repository (OSS)
* Main Repository (Non-OSS)
* Packman
* Main Update Repository

Please follow that instruction and install ONLY OSS, Non-OS, Packman and Update. DO NOT install any other repositories …

Once those 4 are installed (you can confirm it by typing in a gnome-terminal/konsole “zypper lr” ) then install mplayer from a gnome-terminal / konsole by typing:

zypper install MPlayer
