hi guys, I recently choose 64 bit Open SUSE as my first Linux OS. I want to install a text editor called beaver. it has taken me 3 days to figure it out as far as I am. I decompressed it using konsole command “tar xvzf ect.” however when I tried to use make, I get error “package gtk±2.0 was not found in the pkg_config_path environment variable” so I downloaded gtk±2.0 and tried to install and when i run “./configure” and recieve an error message that says " no acceptable c compiler found in $path". so at this point I am lost. I have googled it and found similar forums, however not exactly what I need. also someone said that gtk can be installed from yast but i couldnt figure that out either. any help would be great. thanks.
