Battery Will Not Charge Fully

I have a problem with my battery only charging up to 86% on openSuSe 11.4 Gnome. Everything worked fine on my 11.3 edition but I did I re-install (without formatting home) to upgrade to 11.4 and now the battery won’t charge anything above 86%, although the Power Management states fully charge should handle 96%. It still charges to full under Windows so it’s definitely a 11.4 issue.

The ouput of acpi -V is

Battery 0: Charging, 6%, charging at zero rate - will never fully charge.
Battery 0: design capacity 4400 mAh, last full capacity 4248 mAh = 96%
Adapter 0: on-line
Thermal 0: ok, 62.0 degrees C
Thermal 0: trip point 0 switches to mode critical at temperature 200.0 degrees C
Thermal 0: trip point 1 switches to mode passive at temperature 90.0 degrees C
Cooling 0: LCD 0 of 9
Cooling 1: Processor 0 of 3
Cooling 2: Processor 0 of 3
Cooling 3: Processor 0 of 10

The laptop model is a Acer Aspire 5551.

Another suspicious symptom is that now it seems to charges almost 1% a minute which doesn’t seem right. :dont-know:

I am aware there is another thread about a similar issue but its regarding 11.3 so thought I’d start anew.

Not a problem here; also battery use is less under openSUSE than under Windows. The only difference is that I use KDE/LXDE.
