Battery no longer detected after update

I just installed 11.3 on my laptop earlier today. It installed great, no problems what-so-ever. I was amazed that all my hardware worked right out of the box. As soon as I was online there were some updates, so I told it to go ahead and update. It said it updated the kernel and wanted me to reboot. After that reboot the battery was no longer detected.

I tried rebooting, but the battery is still not detected. I think something in one of the updates had to mess it up, because out of the box it detected the battery and knew how much charge was left on it.

Any ideas or hints on where to look to fix this? I searched and the only information I could find is to make sure hal was installed, which it is.

I have another post where I talk about how to maintain multiple kernel versions and even how to compile the latest kernel (Which may not be for all new users), Please read the following thread on the subject at:

Keeping the current kernel when doing a kernel update through yast

If a certain kernel has a hardware issue, after the change above, you have an option to drop back to the older (or much newer) kernel version.

Thank you,
