Battery issue

When i turn on my laptop it thinks it’s connected to the AC power even though it might be on battery power…

A work around seems to be to suspend the laptop… when it wakes up it detects the battery just fine.

Under ubuntu i don’t have this issue. I thought of copying the acpi script associated with the power but it seems to use something called “acpi-support” which opensuse doesn’t have (at least i could find it)

So what i’m asking is, where do i start looking for the configurations/scripts that control this sort of thing?

which laptop (brand, model)?

Uwe

it’s an HP dv3650ep…
I’ve had a look under /usr/lib/hal/scripts but i couldn’t make heads not tails of what they meant

Thank you for the attention

Do you try to use head and tail as root, don’t?

I’m sorry, but was that a joke?

If not, the expression “i can’t make heads nor tails” means “i don’t understand”… sorry for the mix up

what i meant was that i can’t understand the scripts in that directory. They’re probably not meant to be messed with anyway.
