First of all…greetings to all people up in this place…
Last night I had first install of Linux ever (OpenSus 11- GNOME)…So I hope you will have patience if I miss something that can be rather obvious to you…maybe because I don’t have enough routine with the interface…
My issue is that I’m trying to connect to internet with speedtouch DSL modem, and it’s a custom provider…
All options that I could do, I was scheming through them, and they look rather automated and obvious weren’t giving me effect of coming out on the net…
Do you perhaps mean the speedtouch 546? Because there are many more hits on this number. According to web pages, this is a modem/router with an ethernet interface. Such routers will handle any OS. You just have to set the OS to get an address from the router using DHCP, as if you were on a LAN. Nothing special needs to be set up on the OS to handle DSL, as far as your computer is concerned it’s on a LAN where the router is the gateway.
